William Tyron Patterson was born on August 12, 1814 in Sevier, Tennessee, United States, son of John T Patterson (~1784– ).

William (31) married Mildred Amy Comer (28) (born after 1816 in Halifax, Virginia, United States) on September 15, 1845 in Dickson.^[1] Their son was John William Riley Patterson (1848–1921).
