Biography
Ancestor of famed chef Paula Deen. His line is documented in an episode of Who Do You Think You Are (US), Season 3 Episode 12. He was the son of WB Paul & Eliza Batts and grandson of Judge John A Batts, a wealthy plantation owner and Representative and later a Senator in the State Legislature.[1]
