Biography

Orville LaVerne Paulson, son of Amanda Tilla Engen and Martin Henry Paulson, was born on 31 Aug 1912 in Broadhead, Wisconsin.^[1] He had at least five known siblings: Chester, Edna, Leonard, Myrtle, and Odelia.^[2][3]

On April 4, 1931, Orville married Vera Taylor in Green County, Wisconsin.^[4] They had at least eight children together: Loretta Valere (Paulson) Clark (abt.1932-2012), Beverly, Dolores Mae (Paulson) Bailey (1935-2018), Orville Leonard Paulson (1937-2008), Linda, Sharon, Merle, and Sigurd. The couple raised their children in Green and Rock Counties in Wisconsin. Orville worked several hard jobs of manual labor.^[5][6][7]

Orville and Vera relocated to Salem, Oregon, in about 1968, after their children were all grown up. He worked as a self-employed floor covering contractor for 25 years. He was also known to have been a member of the Sons of Norway, Four Corners Rod and Gun Club, and Faith Lutheran Church. Orville died at age 73, on Wednesday, October 9, 1985 in Salem, Oregon and was laid to rest in the Restlawn Memory Gardens.^[8][9][10]
