Biography
James was born in Shearsby, Leicestershire and was baptised there on 9 September 1810. He was the son of William and Mary Pawley [1].
In 1841 he was living in Hill Street, Shearsby with the household of Moore Smart [2].
In 1851 he was in Hill Street with Thomas Jelley and was a frame work knitter [3].
In 1881 he lived in Fenny Lane (formerly Hill Street) with Thomas Weston. He was a general messenger or jobbing man [4].
