• Fact: http://familysearch.org/v1/LifeSketch Mary Catherine "Kitty" Payne, 77, of the Carmel Home, died there Wednesday, Aug. 3, 1994. She was born in Daviess County, was a member of the Immaculate Catholic Church, the church's Altar Society and the Legion of Mary. She was the first resident to reside in Roosevelt House for a total of 15 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frances Elzie and Sue Ellen Hite Payne. A sister, Mary Ann Monarch, died in 1989. Survivors include two sisters, Julia M. Hayden and Mary Thelma Powers, both of Owensboro; and several nieces and nephews. Services are at 10 a.m. Friday at the Carmel Home. Burial will be in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. Visitation is from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the Carmel Home. Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home is handling the funeral arrangements. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Carmel Home, 2501 Old Hartford Road, Owensboro, Ky. 42303.
