Harry Edward Payten was born in 1886 in Colony of New South Wales, son of Henry Harvey Payten (1859–1911) and Mary Jane Cocks (1865–1920).^[1]

Harry (27) married Madge Beatrice Horstmann (21) (born in 1892) in 1914 in New South Wales. Their son was Reginald Harry Payten (1915–1971).

Harry died on March 27, 1919 in Waverley, New South Wales, Australia, aged 32.^[2]
