On the 7th of September 1899, he was one of the witnesses to the will of his grandmother Emily Harding. He gave his address as: 21 Pulford Street, Pimlico and his occupation as: Carpenter. Pulford Street (since redeveloped and renamed Aylesford Street) was situated to east of St George's Square and Aylesford Street with houses which backed onto the gas works.
A Cooperative Insurance Society policy (No. C32240) for the period 02 Oct 1923 to 29 Sep 1924, shows his address as 11 Buckingham Road, Leyton, E.10. The house is described as follows: "Said private dwelling house is brick built and slated."
