Biography

Floretta Fancheon Perry [1] [2] was born 13 October 1931 [3] [4] [5] in Oneco, Florida. [6] She was the daughter of Victor Davis Perry and Vanessa Smith. [7]

Researcher note: Although Floretta was born in October 1931, she is not listed with them in the 1935 Florida State Census. [8] It is possible that Floretta was the child of a different set of parents and was adopted by Victor and Vanessa since she appears five years later living with them in the 1940 US Federal Census.

In the 1940 US Census [9] Floretta (age 8) was living with her parents in Pinellas Co, Florida. Household members:

  • Vanessa Perry Wife Female 35 Florida
  • Floretta Perry Daughter Female 8 Florida

In the 1945 Florida State Census [10] Floretta (age 13) was living at 4202 46th St. N in St. Petersburg, Florida. Along with her parents are Floretta's maternal grandparents, Walter Smith and Stella Proctor.

Floretta married Jack Stanley Staton in 1952 in Alachua Co, FL. [11] They divorced in 1954 in Pinellas Co, FL. [12]

Floretta died 28 July 1993 [13] [14] at Majestic Towers Health Care Center in St. Petersburg, Florida. [15] She was buried in Oxford, Florida at the Pine Level Cemetery. [16]
