Son of Chester Theodore Peterson and Pearl Isabel Martin.

Brother of William Martin Peterson.

Both Chester and his brother suffered from muscular dystrophy.

Husband of Dolores "Dee" Kennedy.

Father of three children.

Served as a navigator in the Navy Air Corps during World War II; Mechanical Engineering Degree from University of Illinois, Champaign, 1949. Managed plants worldwide for the Great Lakes Carbon Corp. (Obituary, Chicago Tribune)^[1]
