Obituary from The Marshfield Mail, newspaper at Marshfield, Missouri September 1973:

Funeral services for Miss Nellie Philpott, 60, of Marshifeld, will be at 3:30 p.m. this Thursday in the Barber-Edwards-Arthur Chapel here with the Revs. L. L. Rodgers and Joe Layman officiating. Burial will be in the Marshfield Cemetery.

Escorts will be Eugene Clifton, Walter Brixey, Phil Kittrell, Oak Volckmann, Bob Abbott and Tom Layman.

Miss Philpott died early Tuesday in Cox Medical Center, Springfield, after a 2 1/2 month illness.

An employee of the Missouri State Employment Office in Springfield for 28 years, she was a member of the Marshfield First Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Lois Stokes of Mesa, Arizona and Mrs. Mabel Brixey, of Marshfield; two brothers, Joe of Mountain Home, Arkansas and John, of Springfield; three nieces and four nephews.^[1]

Nellie taught school at various times in her life. I have records showing she taught school (country school) at Kilburn in 1931, Jameson in 1935 and Center Pointe in 1939. These schools were in Webster County, Missouri.
