Biography

Son of Walter Pile and Dorothy Osgood. Born about 1587 and died about 1656. Buried Overton, Hampshire. Married 19 Feb 1609 at Over Wallop Katherine Clowes.[1]

Will of Richard Pile of Overton, Hampshire, England In the name of God, amen, I Richard Pile of Overton in the County'of Southampton, Gentleman, being weak and sick in body but in perfect memory for which I owe therefore to God I do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner following imprimis. I bequeath my soul to almighty God my master and deliverer and my body to be buryed where my executrix shall have fitt. Item I give unto poor of ye parish of Overton fourty pounds. Item I give unto my sonn Richard the sum of twenty pounds. Item I give unto my sonn Theophilus ten pounds. Item I give unto my sonn William twenty pounds. Item I give unto my sonn Thomas twenty pounds. Item I give unto my sonn Andrew ten pounds. Item I give unto my sonn Francis fourty pounds. Item I give unto my two sonns Henry and Cornelius fifty pound a piece. Item I give unto my daughter Mary twenty pounds. Item I give unto my daughter Katherine five pounds. Item my will is that these legacies shall be paid within twelve months after my decease by my executrix thus, legacies and funeral expenses being discharged all the rest of my goods and chattels whatsoever I give and bequeath unto my loving wife whom I make sole executrix of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I publish this to be my last will and have hereunto sett my hand and seal this twenty ninth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand six hundred fifty and seaven. I desire my sonn in law John Kiser and my loving fiiend Henry Haslipp to be sponsors of this my last will and testament.
