Biography

Charlotte Pincott was born in about 1820 in Godalming, Surrey. She was the daughter of John Pincott and Maria (Hall) Pincott. She was christened on 23 Apr 1820 at All Saints Church in Witley, Surrey. Her father's occupation was given as labourer, and the family's address as Sweetwater Pond, Godalming.

Charlotte married James Smithers on 24 Apr 1852 in Godalming, Surrey. He was widowed, she hadn't been married before. Their fathers were named as George Smithers and John Pincott.

Charlotte died on 18 Sep 1886, aged 66, at her home in Bridge Street, Godalming. She was buried on 22 Sep 1886 in Nightingale Cemetery, Godalming, in the unconsecrated section. James' occupation was given in her burial record as coachman.

James died on 17 Aug 1895, aged 81, at his home in George Street, Godalming. He was buried on 20 Aug 1895 with his wife. His occupation was given in the burial record as gardener.
