Biography
The son of Rudolph Pipp and Anna (Schwab) Pipp, John Pipp was born in Highland Park, Michigan in 1920.[citation needed] He lived in Detroit with his family.[1][2] He registered for the draft when he was 21, registering in Detroit on July 1,1 941.[3] He stated that he lived at home with his family, at 15408 Greenlawn in Detroit, and worked as a sewing machine operator for Ford Motor Company in Highland Park, Michigan. He was described as being 5'11" tall and 155 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. He enlisted in the United States Naval Reserve.[citation needed]
John Pipp married Marilyn Margaret Carrier (1922-2006), the daughter of James E. Carrier and Helen Agnes Rohde, marrying in Detroit on May 27, 1943.[4] He was 23 years old and the time of the marriage and Marilyn Carrier was 21, working as a stenographer. They had six children together, making their home in 1950 in Detroit, where John worked as a clerk for Wayne County.[5]
John Pipp passed away in Farmington, Michigan at the age of 84[6][7] and is buried at Oakwood Cemetery there.[8]
