Anna was born in 1758. She is the daughter of Sir James Porter.
In 1782 she married John Larpent, the inspector of plays. Anna became his de facto assistant. When the plays were written in French or Italian then she had the skills to be able comprehend them.
She is also known for a seventeen volume daily diary that she kept from 1773 to 1830.
She passed away in 1832.[1]
