John Portsmouth was born in 1806

John became a police constable.

John married Jane.

22 Apr 1854 - John Portsmouth, police constable, discharged on account of infirmity (chronic rheumatism); served 21 years, entitled to pension of £30 per annum; b 8 Mar 1806 in Wokingham parents Charles & Rachel Portsmouth; spouse Jane Portsmouth ^[1]

Jane died in 1875, aged 56, at their home in Farncombe, Godalming. She was buried on 1 Feb 1875 in Nightingale Cemetery, Godalming, in the consecrated section.

John married Elizabeth Pope on 23 Aug 1875 at the parish church in Burwash, Sussex.

John died 25 Oct 1892, aged 84, at his home in Manor Road, Farncombe, Godalming. He was buried on 29 Oct 1892 in Nightingale Cemetery, Godalming, in the consecrated section, with his first wife.

Elizabeth died on 12 May 1907, aged 72, at her home in Lower Manor Road, Farncombe, Godalming. She was buried on 16 May 1907, with her husband.
