Biography
Arthur was born in Aldgate, South Australia during 1912. He is the son of Alf Poyner and Janet Kelly.

Arthur married Phillis Mona Burtt in Strathalbyn, South Australia on 4 August 1934.[2]
Phillis was granted a divorce from Arthur by the Supreme Court of South Australia during August 1941.[3]
Arthur served in the Australian Army during the Second World War. He enlisted in Royal Park, Victoria, Australia on 8 June 1940. He was discharged on 21 June 1946 with the rank of Private in the 2nd 21st Infantry Battalion.[4]
