Biography

Harriett was born in 1838. She is the daughter of Scion Pritchard.^[1].

In 1910, a widowed Hattie Cabinery, 70, was living in Griffin, Spalding, GA with her widowed sisters, (head of household) Sarah, 76, Elizabeth Smith, 74. Sarah had given birth to 1 child, still alive, Elizabeth had given birth to 1 child, no longer alive, and Hattie had given birth to 3 children, none alive. None of them were working.^[2]

In 1880, Hattie Cabiness, 39, was living in Newman, Coweta, GA with her husband Marion C. Cabiness, 41. They were living in the household of George and CatherineJones as boarders. Marion was a painter.^[3]

In 1850, Harriett, 8, was living in Pike, GA with her presumed parents, S.B, 42, and Sarah, 42. Also in the household were E, 16, Sarah, 18, and E, 5. Harriett was born in GA.^[4]

Harriett Pritchard and Marion C. Cabaniss were married 28 Sep 1858 in Spalding, GA.^[5].

In 1860, Hattie Cabaniss, 19, was living in Griffin. Spalding, GA with her husband, M.C, 21. Also in the household were their daughter, Dora C, 11 mo, Hattie’s sister, Sarah, 24, and Thomas E. Alexander, 18. M.C was a printer. He had real estate of $1,000 and Personal estate of $400.^[6]

Mrs. Harriett Cabaness filed for a civil war widow’s pension 13 June 1906 in Spalding, GA. It states she was married 28 Sep 1858 to M.C. Cabaniss. He died 11 Apr 1906 while living in Moroe, GA He was on the indigent pension roll of GA. She presently was paralyzed, unable to perform any kind of duty. From 1900-1906 she kept house for no pay. They didn’t own any land. (It doesn’t list where he served)^[7]

Harriett was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Griffin, Spalding, GA. She was buried in an unmarked grave next to her husband, Marion Cicero Cabaniss. Her dates are 1838-? His dates are 30 Oct 1838-11 Apr 1906.^[1].
