Biography

Lynette was born in 1931. She passed away in 2009.

LEESBURG, Fla. -- Lynnette Jean Severance, 77, of Leesburg took her last breath on Earth and first breath in heaven on Sunday, May 31, 2009. Lynnette was born in Waterville, Maine, and was the daughter of Valmore and Juliette (Viel) Proulx.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Robert and Perley Proulx.

Lynnette is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, George, her sailor man who she said is much more handsome than John Wayne. She is also survived by her son, George; daughters Diane, Deborah and Julie; and her brothers Eugene Proulx and Leonel Proulx. Her extended family includes eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and adopted family Mary and Tom Smith.

Lynnette owned and operated a Fashion 220 cosmetics franchise for several years. She and George ran Jacob's Well Auction Co. in Farmingdale, Maine, for many years prior to retiring to Florida.

In her mid-40s, Lynnette gave her life to Christ, who she is now with. This gives the family comfort and peace. She was involved for many years in a group called Women Aglow in Augusta, Maine. Lynnette played the autoharp at some of the meetings. Many women were encouraged by her strong faith and her prayers.

A private family ceremony will take place in Leesburg.

The Severance family would like to acknowledge the nursing staff at Lake Harris Health Center for the wonderful care that was provided to Lynnette.
