Elijah Purington was born on 24 September 1729 in Hampton Falls, New Hamshire. His parents were Elisha and Phoebe (Swett) Purington.[1] (His name was incorrectly transcribed as Elisha on the New Hampshire card catalogue record).
Elijah married Dolly Green about 1751, based on the birth of their first known child in 1752.
