James W. Quackenbush was born 12 November 1794, New York, he died 30 March 1874, New York.[1]
James W. Quackenbush was married to Effie/Effey Forman/Foreman on 31 March 1818, New York. Marriage-Wednesday, 1 April 1818, last evening, Rev. Dr. Kuypers, James Quackenbush, Jr. to Effey Forman, both of this city."
The 1850 census record has that the whole family was born in Ireland, but birth records show the children all were born in New York. Effie had a sister Catherine A. Frodman/Forman living with them.[2]
Effey, wife of James Quackenbush, died Thursday, 12 August 1852, aged 55 years.[3]
In 1855 James was a widower, the family lived in New York City, New York. James W. was 60 years old, in his household were children: Anna, Edwin, Jane, Cornelia, Lewis, and William.[4]
The 1860 census record shows Jas Quackinbush age 66, born New York. His sister-in-law Cath Forman is living in the household, along with children: Ann M, Cornilia, Edwin, Louis, James. Also a Jane Shepherd age 68, possibly his sister.[5]

Anna Maria Quackenbush born 27 March 1830, died 19 February 1890, single[11][12]
William H. Quackenbush born 24 July 1838, died 19 February 1918, Brooklyn, New York, was a Clerk. (Note: last name was spelled Tuckinbush on record.)[15]
