Erwin Raabe Funeral Held Here July 3
Erwin Raabe, 66, of Rt. 3, Weimar, longtime employee of M-G Farm Service Center, died at 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, at his home, after a year of illness with cancer.
Funeral services were held July 3 from Hubbard Funeral Chapel, with burial in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery. Father Patrick O’Callaghan officiated.
Raabe was born here May 29, 1919, a son of Emil Sr. and Ida (Sicko) Raabe. He married Antonia Chamrad Herzik here on Oct. 31, 1950. She died Jan. 16, 1984. Also preceding him in death were a daughter, Shirley, and three brothers, Elo, Emil and Ted Raabe.
Surviving are son and daughter-in-law Terry and Brandi Raabe of Weimar, sons Charles E. Herzik of Weimar and Alphone Herzik of San Antonio and a daughter Antonia Glowka of San Antonio; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; three brothers, Adolf (Pat) and Clarence Raabe of Weimar and Alfred Raabe of Columbus, and one sister, Adela (Sissy) Koehn of Weimar.
Serving as pallbearers were Melvin Otto, Bobby Wick, Allan Koehn, Marvin Hrcek, Ed Rabel, and Edgar Koehn. Honorary pallbearers were all M-G Farm Service Center employees. The Weimar Mercury, July 11, 1985
