Biography
William Read, son of Francis Read and Arah Hall, was born October 15, 1814 in Virginia. He was married twice. His second wife was Sarah Weaver, a widow, whom he married on January 15, 1846 in Barbour County, West Virginia[1]. William died July 14, 1895 and was buried in Hickory Creek Cemetery, Jameson, Daviess, Missouri[2].
William and Sarah (Weaver) Read had the following children:

Common Errors
Several researchers have added a middle initial of J or G. This mistakenly came from Virginia Deaths and Burials, 1853-1912 for James B. Reede. However this is NOT his son. He did have a son, James H Read, but he was born in Taylor County, Virginia(now West Virginia), where as James B was born in Frederick County, Virginia. Somewhere this family never resided. This William Read did not have a middle name.
