Biography

Floyd Reafsnyder was born on April 5, 1892, in Elkhart, Indiana.[1] He was the son of Eli Reafsnyder and Emma Kitson.
His sister was Nola (Reafsnyder) Lehman.

Floyd married Mary V. Wineman in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan on December 5, 1919.[2]

Floyd passed away on October 26, 1952, in Elkhart, aged 60.[3] He was buried at Rice Cemetery in Elkhart, Elkhart County, Indiana.[1]

Obituary

Floyd Reafsnyder, tester for the Studebaker Corporation, died at 11:30 p.m. Sunday in his home, 1708 S. Sixth St., after suffering a heart attack an hour earlier.

He was born April 5, 1892, near Middlebury, Ind., and married Mary V. Wineman Dec. 5, 1919 in Detroit, Mich. They moved here 23 years ago. Surviving are the widow; a daughter, Jane Elizabeth; a son, Robert E.; four grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. L. C. Lehman, the latter of Goshen, Ind.

Mr. Reafsnyder was a member of Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church near Goshen; the Elks' Lodge; Kane Lodge, F. & A. M.; Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Bristol, Ind.; the Square and Compass Club of South Bend; Local No. 5 UAW-CIO, and the Studebaker Athletic Club.

Friends may call after 7p.m. today in the Westbrook Funeral Home, where services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, the Rev. Kenneth E. Smith, of Simpson Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Rice Cemetery.
