FORMER READING MAN DIES

Charles H. Ream Passes Away at New Holland.

New Holland, Nov. 4 (Special)-

Charles H., son of the late Peter and Esther (nee McCurdy) Ream 412 1/2 West Main street, this place, died of apoplexy yesterday afternoon aged 71 years 11 months and 24 days. Mr Ream was born at this place and at the age of 13 years he accompanied his parents to Reading, where he made his home until four years ago when he moved to his place of birth. While living in Reading he learned the trade of coppersmith and worked at that until he moved. Mr. Ream did not follow his trade at this place but instead was employed in a hosery mill until about a year ago when he was forced to retire on account of his health. He was stricken yesterday afternoon as he was about to step into his son's automobile which was standing in front of the stores on the main street, and passed away a few minutes later. He was a member of St. James' Lutheran Church, and the Neversink Fire Co., both of Reading. The following survive: Widow, Mary E. (nee Foreman), children, Elvin O. and Mrs. Charles A. Dempsey, Reading; Mrs. H.M.Jacoby and Frank E., Pittsburgh; Walter M., this place; brothers and sister George of town; Theodore and Mrs E. O. Smith; Philadelphia, and Davis, Altoona. Funeral Monday, Nov. 7 at 1 p.m. from the home of his son Walter, 349 East Main Street, this place. Rev. Bachman, of town, will officiate. Interment in Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading. Undertaker P.F. Esbenshade, this place, has charge. [2]
