:No record has been found of the birth of Lydia Record. She was probably the daughter of Elisha Record and Ruth (Chamberlain) Record and was probably born at Bakerstown Plantation in Cumberland County, Massachusetts (later the towns of Poland and Minot, Maine); see the Research Note below. The 1850 Census shows her as age 56, born in Maine,[1] and computing her age at her death from her gravestone puts her birth date as about April 1794; her FindAGrave memorial gives the date as 3 Apr 1794, but it cites no source.[2]
A biography of the Bradford family in the New England Historical Genealogical Register in 1850 says that Lydia Record, the wife of Seth Bradford, was the daughter of Elisha Record of Minot, Maine.[4] There were two Elisha Records living at Minot in 1794, father and son. It is likely that Lydia was a daughter of the elder Elisha, by his wife Ruth. The younger Elisha was born in 1775, and it is possible but unlikely that he would have had children by 1794. His only known marriage was in 1809. Ruth, the wife of the elder Elisha, was in her early 40s in 1794, still within the childbearing years.[5] (Research Note by WikiTree contributor Stu Bloom, 24 May 2020)
