George W. Rector, 73 Died Last Tuesday - Funeral This Afternoon At The White Rock Baptist - Geo. W. Rector died suddenly of a heart attack last Tuesday morning. He was out in his car on the highway near the Glass House when stricken and lived only a short time. He was one of the county's well known citizens, had served as County Supt. of Roads for a number of years, had been engaged in the lumber business, and in other ways took an active part in the affairs of the county. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sally Rector; three sons, Dickie of Oneida, and Porter and Carl of Huntsville; five daughters, Cordia Potter, Elma Byrd, and Hattie Rector of Huntsville, Flonnie Henson of Knoxville, and Anna Mae Cross of Erlanger, Ky.; one step-daughter, Lillie Byrd of Huntsville; one sister, Mrs. Burns of Knoxville; 20 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the White Rock Baptist church in Huntsville today at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. L. M. Jeffers, assisted by Revs. Hugh Widick and A. J. Chambers, officiating.
