Gaye Nell (Tuggie) Kalich, 81, of Victoria passed away August 30, 2016. She was born April 10, 1935 in Lavaca County to the late Tom (Percy) Rees Jr. and Norma Lucke Rees. She graduated from Hallettsville High School and worked for the Otto Goedecke Cotton Company. She moved to Victoria and was employed by Union Carbide. There she met Ray H. Kalich and they were married in 1957. When the children were born she became a stay at home Mom. In later years she was employed by VISD and retired after 23 years of service. Survivors include her daughters, Karla (Darrin) Christensen of Vienna, VA, and Kori Kalich of Kingwood; son, Kevin (Rhonda) Kalich of Victoria; grandchildren, Louise and Leah Plowman, Ray H. Ugalde, Kelsea and Kasey Kalich; step-grandchildren, Brittanie (Brent) Dierlam and Kory (Kristen) O'Connor; step great-grandchildren, Rylee O'Connor and Charlotte Dierlam. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Kalich; sister, Joyce Brisco. Visitation will be Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 5 – 7 pm at Rosewood Funeral Chapels. Funeral services will be at 10 am Friday, September 9, 2016 at Grace Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dan Fultz officiating. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Mausoleum.
