Amos was born in 1833. He was the son of Henry Reese and Catharine Snyder.[1]

He served in the Civil War in the Kansas 8th Infantry.
Note - After he finishes service with the Kansas military in 1865, the A. O. Rees (Reese) on this census will go to Randolph Co, MO and marry Ann Eliza Amick (listed as A. E. Akins on this census).
