Rockford Morning Star, Saturday, June 21, 1952

Services for Hugh Reid, 79, 1505 N. Court st., who died at 9:30 a.m. Friday in Rockford Memorial Hospital, where he had been a medical patient since June 3, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at 420 N. Main St. The Rev. Robert C. Hubbard, pastor of Willow Creek Presbyterian church, Argyle, will officiate. Burial will be in the Scottish cemetery, Argyle. Friends may call at 420 N. Main St. between 7 and 8:30 o'clock tonight.

Mr. Reid, a lifelong resident of this community, was born Jan. 13, 1873, in Argyle, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Reid. He married the former Mary A. Greenlee Dec. 20, 1900, in Argyle.

He farmed in Argyle for 40 years before he came to Rockford 10 years ago to make his home. He was a member of Willow Creek Presbyterian church and the Winnebago County Farm Bureau.

Surviving, in addition to his widow, are two sons, Harold and William L. Reid, both of Caledonia; a daughter, Mrs. Margaret A. Kleckner, Rockford; six grandchildren; a brother, John Reid, and a sister, Elizabeth Reid, both of Rockford.
