He registered for World War I in Cullison, Kansas in September 1918.[5]

RESEARCH NOTE: The relationships stated in the 1920 census are incorrect. Mary is living in a household with her late husband's niece, her husband and daughter. The mention that Samuel Rice is Mary's brother gives the impression her maiden name was Rice; however, it was Whitcraft.
