DEATH NOTICE. RICKETTS.—On the 27th December, at his residence, Three Chain road, Mornington, John, the beloved father of John Ricketts and Emma Beattie, in his 93rd year.—(Inserted by his loving daughter.)

DEATH REPORT. A sad case of suicide occurred on Wednesday week, when Mr John Ricketts, aged 92 years, and an old resident of the district, drowned himself in a waterhole. At 5 o'clock in the morning his daughter, Mrs Beattie, with whom he was residing, found him missing from his room and on a search being instituted by Mr McLellan the body of deceased was found floating face downwards in Mr Waters' waterhole. At a magisterial enquiry before Mr W. C. Walker, J.P, a verdict of suicide from drowning was returned. On news of the Sorrento drowning fatality reaching here on Christmas day, the flags of all the yachts were struck at half mast, and remained so until their departure.
