Magdalene "Lena" Rindermann was born on August 2 1833, in Mecklenburg, Prussia.
She married Joseph Trost in about 1855. In 1870, they were farming in Newton, Wisconsin, and had seven children. [1] In 1880, they were still living on the same farm. [2]
In the 1900 census she reported that she had seven children and five were still living. Lena could read, write, and speak English and she and Joseph owned their farm. [3] The Wisconsin State Census of 1905 had Lena and Joseph living with their son, George, and his family. [4] In the 1910 census they are still living with George and she reported that she had ten children and seven were still living. [5]
Joseph died in 1914 and Lena continued living with George and family until her death [6]
She died in Manitowoc County, Wisconsin, on July 11, 1925, and was buried in the Saint Josephs Cemetery in Alverno. [7]
