From Belleville (KS) Telescope of July 7, 1932:
Although Wesley Rizek had been in declining health for a number of years, the news of his sudden death on last Wednesday evening came as a great surprise to all. Wesley Rizek was born in Czechoslovakia on January 18, 1875, and departed this life on June 29, 1932 at his home in Belleville at the age of 57 years, 5 months and 11 days. He came to America with his parents at the age of two years and settled at Munden where he grew to manhood and resided till 1927 when he moved to Colorado Springs for his health. From there he moved to Corpus Christi, Tex., also for his health, returning to his home in Belleville in the summer of 1929 where he resided until his death. He was united in marriage to Christina Novak on February 12, 1900. To this union were born five children, two of whom, Ludmilla and Mrs. Louise Pachta, preceded him to the grave. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife and three children, Robert of Munden, Alphonse and Helen of Belleville, three grandchildren, Marcella and Irene Pachta and Robert Leroy Rizek, together with a host of relatives and friends.
Mr. Rizek was of a genial, quiet and unassuming disposition, deeply sympathetic with those in sorrow or trouble always ready to help his neighbor and desirous of doing good to all. He was held in the highest esteem by those who knew him. He was an active member of the Catholic Workmen, the Knights of Columbus, and the S.B.A. He was greatly devoted to his home and his family. He loved the noble and true, was a devout Catholic and one of the first four largest donators to the beautiful new St. Edward's church. The funeral was held from the house to St. Edward's church on Friday morning and was one of the largest ever held there, Father McKenna pronounced the last blessing over the remains in the family lot in St. George's cemetery south of Munden.
