Dr. Arthur Jay Roberts was an early graduate of the University of Michigan medical school specializing in obstetrics. He began his career in rural practice but quickly set up office out of his home in Jackson, Michigan in 1893 where he continued to practice until his death in 1948.

DNA evidence supports that Arthur Jay Roberts had at least one biological son, Robert Wayne Snider. Both of Robert Wayne Snider's children match other living descendants from the same family, corroboration of events from living eyewitness, as well as the given name of Robert Wayne Snider point to this parentage.
