Biography

Margaret Robertson was born 1760. She was (most likely) the daughter of Patrick Robertson and Ann Ramsay & christened 29 Jun 1760 at Barry, Angus, Scotland. [1]

Margaret Roberton married Robert Petrie 22 July 1779 at Barry, Angus, Scotland. [2]

They had children:

Her husband Robert died 3 December 1807 (aged 54) at Barry, Angus, Scotland and was buried in the Barry churchyard.

She died 1 March 1839 (in her 79 year) and was burried in the Barry Kirkyard.

Grave inscription:

"1835 Erected by MARGRET ROBERTSON Lenks of Barry in memory of her husband ROBERT PETRIE who died the 3 December 1807 in the 55 year of his age also of their son DAVID who died the 22 December 1834 in the 40 year of his age MARGRET ROBERTSON died 1 March 1839 in the 79 year of her age BETSY RAMSAY wife of SAMUEL PETRIE died 9 October 1872 in the 69 year of her age SAMUAL PETRIE died on the 13 August 1873 aged 74 years We part to meet again"[14]
