Biography
Jane married Gershon Tate on Dec 18, 1818, in Greene Co, TN. Two of their siblings married: James married Mary Tate & Carey married Rhoda Robertson. They lived near Rogersville, TN., several years. In 1823, they were in Indiana & then moved back to Tennessee. In 1845, they left & spent the winter in Newberry, IN., before going on to Savannah, Andrew Co, MO., the next spring, eventually returning to Newberry, Davies Co, IN., where several English & Robertson family members had settled. They had 8 children: Thomas R b. 10/3/1819; David b. 5/20/1823; Mary; Mahala; Elizabeth Ann; Edward English b. 11/3/1833; Henrietta b. 5/24/1836; James Craig b. 9/7/1839.
