Biography

John Victor James Robinson was born 1st August 1910 in Beccles, Suffolk England. [1] The birth was registered as Jack [sic] Victor James Robinson in Blything, Suffolk, England, in the third quarter of 1910. His mother's maiden name was Walker. [2]

Jack V J Robinson migrated from England to Australia as a 14 year old farm-hand on board 'Themosticles', a ship owned by the Aberdeen line. He left London, England, on 3 August 1925, travelling third-class, bound for Sydney Australia. His last address in England was Paradise Row, Ringsfield, Beccles, Suffolk. [3] 'Themistocles' arrived in Sydney 19 September 1924.[4]

The marriage of John [sic] Victor James Robinson to Nora May Brooker was registered in 1940 in Paterson, New South Wales Australia.[5]

Major John Victor James Robinson (1910-1986) served as a chaplain in World War II. [1] He left a memoir of three volumes which is housed at the Australian War Museum, Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia. [6]

Archdeacon John Victor James Robinson died 30 May 1986 and was buried in Gresford Anglican cemetery, Church Street, Gresford, New South Wales, Australia. [1]
