Biography

George, born in 1608, was the second son of John Rodney and Jane Seymour.^[1]

He married Anne, daughter of Sir Thomas Lake and widow of the 17th Lord de Ros.^[1] They had two sons and some sources list three daughters, which are probably in error:^[1]

• Anthony died in a duel in Barcelona in 1705, married Constantina Clarke^[1]
• George, captain in the marines, died 1700^[1]

George died in 1630 and was of Lyndhurst, Hants.^[1]

"George Rodney Esq sonne of John Rodney Esq baptized 2 August? 1596?"

Very interesting narrative about this generation written by brother Edward in a chapter of “The genealogy of the family of Rodney of Rodney Stoke,” in which a footnote re: Cage states “Altered in the MS. from “Gage,” as originally written.”
