Elizabeth Roulston was born in Liverpool, Lancashire, England.

Elizabeth Roulston was born in 1857 ^[1] in Liverpool, Lancashire, England, the daughter of Robert William Roulston and Ann (Brown) Roulston.^[2]

She was baptised on 11 September 1857 in Everton, Lancashire.^[3]

In 1861 Elizabeth (age about 4) was living with her parents and 2 siblings in Liscard, Cheshire. Her father was recorded as being a superintendent librarian. ^[2]

In 1871 Elizabeth (age 13) a scholar living with her parents and 4 siblings in Melling, Lancashire. Her father was now a coal merchant. ^[4]

In 1881 Elizabeth living with her parents and 6 siblings in Great Crosby, Lancashire. ^[5]

In the 1891 census Elizabeth (age 33) was living with her parents in Great Crosby, recorded as married with a daughter Dorothea. ^[6]

In 1901 Elizabeth (age 43) was living with her mother and daughter in Great Crosby, Lancashire.^[7]

In 1911 Elizabeth (age about 54) was living in Great Crosby with her mother and daughter. ^[8]

Elizabeth died on 30 August 1939 in Colwyn Bay, Denbighshire. Her estate passed probate on 9 October 1939 in Bangor.^[9]

Research Notes

Elizabeth appears to have had a child, Dorothea Frances Rallsone born in Darlington, Durham in 1888 as recorded in 1891, 1901 and 1911 censuses. There is no birth record for such a child under this or a similar name; nor is there a no corresponding marriage for Elizabeth. Although she declared herself to be married, perhaps Elizabeth was unmarried, Rallsone being a (deliberately?) corrupted variation of Roulston. Whitfield-2424 00:21, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
