Biography

Richard was born in Middle Rasen, Lincolnshire, England, and was baptised there on 30 May 1830. He was the son of John Row and Phoebe Key^[1] and lived in Middle Rasen with his parents in 1841.^[2] His mother died later that year.^[3]

At the time of the 1851 census Richard worked as a farm servant for the Knowles family in the hamlet of Newball in the parish of Stainton by Langworth, Lincolnshire.^[4]

By 1860 Richard was in Valley township, Linn county, Kansas territory, in the United States of America. He lived with the Priestley family and worked as a farmer.^[5]

Richard married Eliza Jane Reynolds in Linn, Kansas, in 1862.^[6] By 1875 the couple lived in Valley with their children Norman (age 11), Addie (8), Thomas (7) and Anna (3).^[7][8]

Richard died on 2 January 1894 and was buried in the Trading Post Cemetery in Trading Post, Linn County, Kansas.^[9]

Research notes

Richard was baptised in May 1830, so the date of birth on his headstone is incorrect. Fuller-8857 11:32, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
