Biography

Arthur was the only son of William Rowan and Letitia Denny.^[1]

He matriculated at Trinity College Dublin on 6th May 1816 aged 15.^[2] He graduated with a B.A. in 1821, and obtained an M.A. in 1827. He was curate at Blennerville from 1824 to 1853, in 1854 he became rector at Clonfert, and in 1856 archdeacon of Ardfert.^[1]

Arthur was also a noted antiquarian and was editor of Kerry Magazine.^[1]

He married Alicia the only daughter of Peter Thompson in Tralee on 16th November 1825.^[3][4] Known children are:

3. Arabella Letitia (1836-1870)^[7]
4. Arthur Edward Denny (1837-1871)^[8].

Arthur died in 1861.^[9] He was buried in Ballyseedy churchyard.
