John was born Devon England the son of John ROWLAND Snr and Elizabeth DOBLE.
He died 1911 Morpeth NSW and was buried there aged 77 years.
He married twice, first in 1854 at Devon England to Hannah Marie ASHFORD and after her death in about 1856 he married Susan TROTT in 1858 also in Devon England.
John arrived in Australia 27 Sep 1865 on the ship "WALLASEA" he was aged 32 and a framer, with him was wife Susan aged 32 and two children William aged 8 and Henry aged 5, coming from Awliscombe Devon. They were sponsored by James BAKER. They resided at Scott's Flat and Hambledon Hill both rural areas near Singleton NSW
