John Trewin Runnalls, farmer at Berriwillock, joined the 4th Victorian Imperial Bushmen/Australian Imperial Regiment (A.I.R.) (regimental number 496) sailed from Port Melbourne on the "Victorian" on 1 May 1900 for South Africa.[2][3]. He returned to Australia in September 1901 on the "Harlech Castle".[4]
John joined the 2nd Battalion, Australian Commonwealth Horse in January 1902 (regimental number 625)[5][6]. He departed again for South Africa on 12th February 1902 on the "St. Andrews"[7].
John Trewin Runnalls died at Bendigo 1953 age 81, mother Letitia MUNTZ, father Thomas[8].
