Biography
William is the son of John Rush who was a soldier in the American Revolution and died in 1800. The family moved to Ross County, Ohio in 1799.
He moved to Sugar Creek, Union Township, Fayette County about 1812 and remained there the rest of his life. At his death about 1866, he was the last of the Pioneers on Sugar Creek.
William married 1) Eleanor Gaines. Among their children are:
- Dr. Lorenzo,
- Dr. Benjamin H., b. 1820; m. Ann Eliza; d. 02 Aug 1902
She died in 1834. He then married Harriet Hanson or Crothers on 10 or 13 Feb 1835 at Ross County, Ohio. Among their children are children are:
- William, b. 1836; m. Louise E.; d. 1881
