Biography

Castrenza Ruvalo is born around 1815 in Corleone, based on her reported age at death. She is the daughter of Giuseppe Ruvalo and Giovanna Nicolosi, a married couple from Corleone.

Castrenza marries twice, first to Pietro Oliveri on 29 April 1834. Their parents are all living at this time. On the same day, Castrenza's brother, Francesco, marries Pietro's sister, Vincenza.

Castrenza marries for the second time, to Biagio Rizzotto, son of the late Antonino Rizzotto and living Agata Rizzotto, on 10 September 1843. Her parents have both died by this time.

Castrenza and Biagio have at least three children: Giuseppe (1845), Maria Agata (c. 1847), and Francesco (c. 1868).

Giuseppe is baptized on 13 September 1845. His godparents are Francesco Ruvalo and Vincenza Oliveri, a married couple.^[1]

Maria Agata is named after her paternal grandmother. I estimate she is born around 1847, twenty years before she marries.

Maria Agata marries Gaetano Marsalisi on 4 March 1867.^[2]

Castrenza dies at 72 years of age (b. 1815) on 16 March 1887. By this time she has been widowed twice. She dies suddenly, according to this record.

Francesco marries Vincenza lo Verde on 15 September 1888.^[3]
