CENSUS':

The 1910 US Census of Paw Paw, Van Buren, Michigan finds this John F. Ryder at the age of 48yrs old and given as a farmer, born in New York, (with both parents born in Germany) and married for 27yrs. He is living there in Paw Paw with his 45yr old wife, Minnie H., his 7yr old daughter Cleo, his 20yr old daughter, Hattie A., Hattie's 26yr old husband, Orville Rock and a 13yr old boarder named Winnie Chase.^[1]

The 1920 US Census of Hopkins, Allegan, Michigan finds this John Ryder at the age of 58yrs old and given as a farmer born in Michigan. He is living there in Allegan in a house he is renting, with his 55yr old wife, Minnie, his 17yr old daughter, Cleo, his 34yr old daughter Leta (Adams); Leta's 34yr old husband, Clarence Adams and five children of Clarence and Leta; 13yr old John (Adams), 10yr old Minnie (Adams), 8yr old Orlo (Adams), 5yr old Lyle (Adams) and 1yr, 1-month old Marguerite (Adams).^[2]
