Biography

Max was born in 1919. He was the son of Samuel Samuels and Annie Samuels. He passed away in 1943.

From find a Grave:

408 Squadron's Handley Page Halifax II (#JD107), with an aircrew of seven, took off at night from RAF Leeming for an air operation to bomb the Breuil steelworks in Le Creusot, France. JD107 was shot down by a German night-fighter, crashing near Caen in France and taking the lives of four members of he crew. The three other airmen who survived the attack an crash were captured and interned in German POW camps. The airmen who perished in the crash were-
RAFVR Pilot Officer James DENHOLM,
RCAF Pilot Officer Douglas Carter HORNER,
RAAF Flying Officer Peter Reginald QUANCE and
RCAF Flight Lieutenant Max SAMUELS.
