Biography

"Thelma Faye (Sanders) Sharp, long-time resident of Coweta, passed away on Saturday morning, December 11, 2010 at Coweta Manor Nursing Home in Coweta, OK at the age of 86 years and 29 days. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her family.

Thelma was born on November 12, 1924 in Coweta, OK to George Washington and Pearl (Scruggs) Sanders. She and Marshall Sharp were united in marriage and he later preceded her in death. Thelma and Arthur L. Haskett were together several years before he preceded her in death on October 27, 2009. She was a member of the Old Mission Free Holiness Church in Coweta, OK. Thelma was a homemaker for most of her life and she enjoyed watching television.

Thelma is survived by her two sons, Gary Snelson and his wife, Cathy, of Coweta, OK and James Snelson and his wife, Kay, of Tulsa, OK; two grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and other relatives.

Thelma was preceded in death by parents, her husband, Marshall Sharp, her companion, Arthur Haskett and six brothers.

Funeral services for Thelma will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at Wright Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, OK with Rev. Brody Morris officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, December 14 from 5 - 7 p.m. Family and friends may send condolences to Thelma's family online @ www.wrightfh.net.
