Biography

Margaret Anna Eva Katherine Sauerbier was born to Gernard and Elizabeth Eva Sauerbier in 1855 in Butzbach, Wetteraukreis, Hessen, Germany (see Find-a-Grave reference).

Margaret emigrated to Australia on the 'Persia' in 1863 with her mother and siblings as part of a scheme to re-unite wives and families with husbands/fathers already in Australia (the Colony of NSW).

They arrived in Sydney on the 10th May, 1863, and their details listed under "Wives and families of persons resident in the Colony" written under "Sauerbier" were^[1]:
