Biography

Christina Schade was born 13 Feb 1846 ^[1] in Hessen-Darmstadt, Germany. ^[2]

A Johanna Chrstine Schade arrived in the immigrated to the US in 1854, arriving in Baltimore. ^[3]

She married George Heinrich Schultz (Schulz) who was also born in Germany on 13 Jun 1865 in Cumberland Maryland. She was 19, and George was 31. ^[4] By 1870, George (35) and Christina (24) had three children; Henry (4), Mary (3) and George (1). They were living in Alleganey Maryland. Henry was working as a brewer, and the census indicates he was now a citizen of the US. ^[5]

Although their son Daniel was born in 1868 according to his death records, he doesn't show up in the 1870 census. The 1880 census shows him as 9 years old. George, who was 1 in the 1870 census doesn't show up in the 1880 census, so he may have died. But George H. was added to the family in about 1878.

Christina died 22 Feb 1879 in Cumberland, Alleganey, Md. at the very young age of 33. ^[6]

The 1880 census shows George living with Mary Schade, obviously a relative of Christina, perhaps a sister, along with five kids. '
